Jesus said, “Let the little children come unto Me.” What a privilege it is to introduce children to Jesus Christ as their friend, and to God’s purpose for their lives. They didn’t “just happen” – they are known by God and are loved by Him. We want to take the children on an on-going journey of learning and growing and experiencing God’s involvement in every area of their lives.
WE CURRENTLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING GROUPS:
BEGINNERS - for babies and toddlers from 6 months to 3 years old. A place near the sanctuary is reserved for them, so the parents can watch them and still listen to the sermon. |
| |
CHAMPIONS - for children (boys and girls) 4-6 years old.
Group time includes a simple Bible story, craft, game, or music, snack time and play time.
PRINCESSES - for girls 7-11 years old. To help girls understand what it means to be a 'daughter of the King', loved and valued by their heavenly Father.
Group time includes a Bible lesson, craft, game, music or DVD, and snack time.

YOUNG KNIGHTS - boys 7-11 years old. To help boys learn what it means to be in the service of the King. To be honorable, respectful, trustworthy and responsible.
Main duties of a knight: 'protecting the weak, defenseless, helpless and fight for the general welfare of all.'
Group time, led by men ('Knights') and teen-age boys, includes a Bible lesson, games, music or DVDs, snack time, and other activities.
YOUNG-TEENS - for boys and girls 12-15 years old. This interactive group gives a lot of time for feedback, helping the teens form a correct world view, positive self-image, and understanding of the Biblical perspective on many current issues teens face every day.

These groups meet together in their own rooms on Sunday mornings after the praise and worship time.
Our goal for them is to:
1. Make Friends
Each week the children have a chance to get to know each other through interactive games and activities and by praying for each other. The material is mainly in Dutch with English translation where needed.
2. Learn About God
On our journey through life we encounter different people, places and new experiences. We want to acquaint the children with characters, places and happenings from the Bible in order to help them discover Biblical truths and apply these principles in their own lives. Each week, the children sing and worship together and experience a Bible story in a fun and engaging way.
3. Have a good time
Bible stories are told in age-appropriate ways, making learning fun through games, activities, and crafts. Children are asked to participate as much as they can and older children are often asked to help with the younger ones.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up". |
Safety Guidelines
Together we can make visiting NDIC a special time for children and grown-ups. If your child participates in one of the groups we ask that you help your child understand that he/she must:
- Stay in the activity room except when he/she is with you.
- Respect the leaders and other children by listening and following instructions.
- Respect the building and other people by using indoor behavior: walking, not running talking, not shouting being careful in the coffee/tea area
- Respect the area around the building by remaining with parents when the children’s program is finished.
Please do not allow your children to enter any other rooms. Parents are responsible for their own children. Thank you for your understanding.
IMPORTANT POINTS REGARDING THE CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY ROOMS:
For the safety of your children, only people who are here to help with each group, or who bring or pick up their own children are allowed in these rooms/areas.
Please do not bring coffee or tea into these areas because of the danger of burns.
Please pick up your children by 12:00 p.m.
The Children’s Ministry requires a lot of volunteers to make it work. If your child participates, you will be asked to help in one of the groups once every 4-6 weeks.
To protect your own child and all the others in our care, we cannot take children into the group areas who have had any of the following within the last 24 hours:
Fever ((koorts) Conjunctivitis (bindvliesontsteking) Mucus from the eyes (slijm uit de ogen) Diarrhea (diarree) Congested cough (bronchitis-achtige hoest) Clear or green mucus from nose (loopneus met slijm) Vomiting (overgeven) Impetigo (krentenbaard) Contagious skin rashes (besmettelijke huiduitslag) Pink Eye (oogontsteking) Any other contagious condition (elke andere besmettelijke conditie)
